★「死んだら終わり」ということを、容赦ない感じで説明してください。

死んでも周りの近しい人は暫く覚えていてくれる。やがてその人達も亡くなると誰も覚えていてくれる人はいなくなる。歴史上の人物でない限りあなたが生きていた事を誰も覚えていない。あなたは存在していたのかどうかも分からなくなる。全くの無である。あなたの人生に何かしらの意味はあったのか。

　ビルマの仏教ではこうやって忘れ去られる事が無上の弔いとされる。何時までも覚えられている人は業の強い人として成仏できない。余程人に恨まれた極悪人と見られる。忘れられる事が至上の喜び。私が何百年前かの市井の人を知らないように。それが普遍の行動で無常の事。それでいい。何も問題ないだろう。自分は存在しなかったのかも知れない。自分の存在は気のせい。
